Department of Wellness – Physical

1. Fuel your body for success

Good nutrition practices benefit you physically, mentally and academically.
The “right” diet is one that is balanced, has variety and includes food you enjoy.

2. Move your body daily

Choose an exercise routine that matches your needs.

3. Identify your go-to breathing technique for calming your body

Breathing is the one physiological part of your body that you can consciously control, and it impacts all other physiological functioning.

4. Get more sleep

Getting more zzz’s can help you get more A’s. Have a regular night-time routine that includes relaxation exercises like stretching, meditating, or reading your favorite book.

For more energy, less stress, and a shaper mind, do the following:

● Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep every night.
● Refrain from using technology 30 minutes before bed
● Sleep in a dark and quiet place with few distractions
● Try to go to bed at the same time every night
● Don’t pull an all-nighter to cram for a test
● Don’t keep your phone right by your bed
● Don’t take naps in the late afternoon
● Avoid caffeinated drinks and large meals before bed
● Try a glass of warm milk or chamomile tea to wind down
● Try relaxing sleep music or meditation videos
