ASASU Elections Commissioner

Salary: Stipend–$3,500.00 Annually

Position Description:

The ASASU Elections Commissioner coordinates and manages elections for USG (Undergraduate Student Government) and GPSA (Graduate Professional Student Association) on all four campuses.

Essential Duties:

  1. Responsible for coordinating and managing all operational aspects of the ASASU Elections process
  2. Responsible for engaging the student body through cross campus campaigns for student awareness of the elections process
  3. Manages a team of five assistant elections commissioners (one for each student governments)
  4. Responsible for following USG (Undergraduate Student Government) and GPSA (Graduate Professional Student Association) constitutions, policies and procedures, bylaws and University rules and regulations

Desired Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in at least one credit hour
  • Must have the ability to travel to all four campuses
  • The successful candidate cannot be currently involved in Student Government in order to remain unbiased

Working Environment:

  • Professionally represent department/program
  • Sit or stand for duration of shift, climb stairs or walk moderate distances to perform work
  • Work collaboratively across various departments within the University as well as with diverse populations and groups
  • Develop and deliver presentations to groups
  • Use computers effectively, including inputting, reviewing and retrieving information, extended periods of viewing screen, using mouse and keyboard, and sitting
  • Use critical thinking to make decisions and/or analyze data
  • Research, develop, implement and assess programs
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Walk throughout campus for meetings or events, regardless of the weather
  • Work collaboratively to achieve objectives
  • Use of standard office equipment, including multi-line telephone, fax, copier, scanner, pc-based computer and accessories
  • Monitor expenditures
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
