The available room is a small but lovely space in an apartment in the Spence Garden Community. The Spence Garden Community in Tempe is a 13 unit, graduate student apartment complex just a few blocks from ASU. Sustainable living outdoor amenities include raised bed vegetable gardens, fruit trees, an outdoor firepit and BBQ. We’ve created a sense of community that is hard to find in most apartment complexes, with weekly dinners together and other events throughout the year.
The available bedroom (#2 in the floor plan) has a window on the ground floor overlooking a raised bed. It is largely unfurnished, as you see in the pictures, and has a dresser instead of a closet. The bathroom is shared. While the rest of the apartment is tight, it is also sunny and airy. The living room is lovingly furnished and very pleasant (no shoes in the house rule), the kitchen has as many supplies as it can hold, and everything that might be needed for cooking and baking. Most importantly, the apartment looks out onto gardening and fresh air via the large porch area and courtyard with more raised beds.
The location supports walking and biking: 2 blocks from the Apache & Dorsey light rail station, one block from a free Orbit shuttle stop, and a 2 blocks from the edge of the ASU campus. Grocery stores and restaurants are within walking distance. Shared laundry/water/trash/compost service/natural gas, one assigned parking space, and shared wifi, adding to natural affordability.
I would like a roommate who is studious, quiet, and tidy. PhD students preferred. I have a cat that is both indoor and outdoor (there is no litter box in the house). No further pets, unfortunately.
