This November the GPSA is hosting Connecting with Food a series of food-related events highlighting the important of sustainability, security, waste, and connections with the food we consume. Read below to learn more about each event and how to participate in these fun and interesting events.
Connecting with Food Events
November is all about food, especially during the Thanksgiving holiday when many students are unable to afford basic food items. The canned foods drive is focusing on the ASU Pitchfork Pantry which provides food items for students in need. Please bring all donations to any of the Graduate Student Centers and drop them off in the bins there. Donations will also be accepted at the Cooking Demos and the Dinner of Gratitude on November 22.
When considering items to bring for the pantry please make sure to only donate non-perishable food items including canned foods (fruits, vegetables, meats, etc.), rice, pasta, and other whole grain items. Bottled water is also acceptable, as well as personal hygiene items. Please refrain from bringing candy, soda, or items packaged in glass.
